TONY DOW

Tony Dow didn’t really have experience in acting. In fact, he was a champion diver. However, joining the cast of Leave it to Beaver from 1957 to 1963 as Wally paved the way for his acting career. He was only there as a favor to his friend, but it had seemed that the opportunity is really for him since it quickly became apparent that he was the perfect person for the job. He appeared in other credit roles after the series and eventually became a director.

Tony had struggles with health and shared it publicly. He revealed that he actually inherited it from his mother, but an additional factor to it was how he was treated in Leave it to Beaver set as a child star. Dow’s last appearance on the screen was in the 2003 film Dick Roberts: Former Child Star. In April 2019, people saw Dow promote “leave it to beavers” on the Metv network.
